Why No Gi Jiu-Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was brought to Brazil in the early 20th century and was founded from the roots of Japanese Jujutsu and Judo. No Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (or No Gi BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on the ground aspects of fighting.

The techniques that are taught place an emphasis on controlling an opponent with leverage and movement, rather than strength. In addition to being a form of self-defense, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides an intense physical and mental workout that will improve your health, physique, and stamina.

Why Muay Thai?

Sometimes referred to as “Thai boxing“, Muay Thai is a martial art and combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. Known as the “art of eight limbs”, Muay Thai is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins. Muay Thai became widespread internationally in the late-20th to 21st century, when Westernized practitioners from Thailand began competing in kickboxing and mixed-rules matches as well as matches under Muay Thai rules around the world.

The training puts an emphasis on learning how to strike and defend effectively in all range, utilizing all of the eight limbs as well as the clinch. Not only can Muay Thai be a form of self defence, it is also an excellent way to train and strengthen your mind, body, and spirit.
